Your Questions About How To Discover New Artists

Paul asks…

How do you get discovered as a singer?

I’ve been trying to get discovered for a while, I’m really good and everything, but I’m only 13. My mom says I’m to young to start singing, but my music teacher, and everyone says I should try to get discovered. I’m all confused on how to though. Can anyone help me?

New Niche Finder answers:

It is fully up to you what you want to do with your life, but I do agree with the group that says start now. I don’t know what kind of music you are looking into, but I know that most classical/opera singers start singing at ages from three to about ten and they get discovered at about your age if they know other famous artists, or in college (would need to go to a music school though!), modern/pop/rock/indie/etc… Artists start singing at your age and get discovered when they graduate high school, and musical theatre singers start singing at about 7-10 and are discovered going into high school or college. Therefore, no matter what music you want to sing, start now! And then work hard hard HARD to get a lot better, and then really start looking for opportunities to show off your talents to family, friends, and most of all: people in the music bizz! Such as talent scouts, college level judges, or anyone else!

Good luck!!! 😀

Do you think I will discover who I am and what I want to do with my life in the next 8 weeks?

I am in my shangrilah. Penland a concentrated art school. The next 8 weeks I will be throwing clay. I am an artist trying to find a career by using my art. My normal medium is oil paint, but want to learn all I can in different mediums. Do you think I am wasting my time?

New Niche Finder answers:

The artists I know all say that exploring other mediums helps their creativity and their abilities in their more usual work. That’s certainly true for musicians.

Enjoy your 8 weeks, it sounds fantastic. You’re very lucky to have this opportunity.

Who is the artist who named our body parts?

Who was the artist who was crazy and obssesed with human anatomy that he would dig up freshly buried bodies to disect the cadavers for a visual on how to draw the body parts.

New Niche Finder answers:

Leonardo DaVinci spent many a year digging up corpses to discover the human bodies secrets. I’d say he probably is responsible for most of the names.
