Ruth asks…

How do artists get their art “discovered” and put in musuems?

I’m sure there’s some variation from one guy to the next, but generally speaking, when most artists start out, they’re individuals in a crowd crossing their fingers just trying to get by. It’s a huge transition from obscurity to acclaim – so how does it work?
@Ace
Sometimes, but what if they’re still living?

New Niche Finder answers:

TWO WAYS
1. Being at the right place at the right time. A person who has art connections, such as an Art Director, Art Teacher, Owner Of A Gallery/Museum, etc., that sees your art somewhere and goes to you directly about it.

2. Marketing your art like crazy to hopefully get discovered one day! The more people that know about your art, the better your chance of being discovered by the people with the right connections. Marketing: Posting your art on the internet, Mailing samples of your artwork to art/non-art businesses, Entering art contests, Renting a booth and selling your artwork at art shows/festivals, etc……

Jenny asks…

Non-Mainstream pop artists?

I really want to expand my music and listen to things that are not mainstream. I was wondering is there any non mainstream male (or female) artists that have a pop sound to them? I know it would be kind of hard because pop music seems to be everywhere nowadays. But I really want to listen to something “poppy” that a lot of people don’t know about! Does anyone know any non mainstream pop music that I can get?

(prefer males artists I can relate to the fact im the same gender lol I know kinda weird..only so I can sing along lol XD)

New Niche Finder answers:

Listening to Pandora.com is good way to discover artists who are similar to known artists. You enter the name of the artist that you like and the program finds and plays similar music for you. You can take note of the ones you don’t already know and want to explore.

Good luck.
