Your Questions About How To Discover New Artists

Jenny asks…

How do I get people to discover my Youtube video?

It’s not even like I’m bringing something new to the table and I want to show it off. I just uploaded a song that was not fully uploaded on Youtube anywhere. I’ve tried mentioning it on songs by the same artist or similar genres, but 4 views have came in since I’ve started (1 being mine). And this band isn’t obscure; most their songs people posted have been watched +100000 times. Ideas?

New Niche Finder answers:

For one, you could ask people on here to watch it and pass it on if they like it.

If you have a facebook/myspace/twitter account, you could tell your friends to watch it and pass it on.

Comment on other youtube videos with a link to your video.

P&S: Hello World… Music Poll?

Hello there, fellow Poll and Survey people… I find this section to be very interesting, so today, I have some questions for all you lovely people… p.s. Greetings from the Rock and Pop section!

*Please answer as many as you can as truthfully as you can*

1. How often do you listen to music?
2. What is your favorite artist/musician?
3. How do you discover new songs? Radio? Internet? The grapevine?
4. What genre do you consider your music taste to be?
5. How important is music to you?

Thank you so much! :)
Thanks for all the answers! If you don’t even listen to music that much, feel free to answer this.

You all seem to be some pretty cool people. Maybe I should hang around here more…
aie, all you Rock and Poppers keep on sneaking over here! I know too many of you guys! 😛

New Niche Finder answers:

I like you, you’re not common to these parts, but you’re kind, and polite.

1) Pretty much daily. At least 95% of the days in a year.
2) Queen.
3) Friends, and occasionally adverts on Spotify.
4) If I had to pick a genre, and I do like a lot of different types of music, I’d go with heavy metal.
5) Very, life just wouldn’t be the same without great music.

You’re most welcome.

I need help getting discovered recording artists please!!!!!!!!?

My best friend said i am a fantastic singer and i wanna be found because my dream is to help and build new shelters for the homeless in my area because the women’s shelter is filling up WAY to fast and it is SO old so i want to build a new one for them. I want suggestions on how i can be discovered and i would like any recording artists to give there E-mail and hook me up would be great. i would like E-mail you. i live in Canada, BC. please any one help me. BTW i am 13 years old.

New Niche Finder answers:

I don’t really think becoming a singer is really the solution to building a new woman’s shelter, though it could help plenty. I think that if you would like to become a singer because you have a passion for music, then go for it, but if it’s only a one-hit wonder kind of deal to re-model a homeless shelter, then there are other ways to do that.
However, if you really want to do this, I cannot stop you, I will be willing to help you. Although I am not a recording artist, I have studied music, and you have to put yourself out there. Preform at talent contests, or even go to a record studio and show them what kind of voice you really do have.

I hope you achieve your dream, and good luck!

How come we can’t see exoplanets in detail in other systems with the Hubble Space Telescope?

I’d like to know what the newer discovered GJ 677Cc looks like on the surface, but how cone there is no actual photos of those planets? How come it’s all Artist’s Impression? How can they see galaxies billions of lightyears away but not the planets only a few 20 or 30 ly away?

New Niche Finder answers:

The galaxies are easy to spot because they are luminous against the black backdrop of space. We can see even some of the faintest ones.

But imagine trying to look at a pea, with binoculars, at nighttime in the forest, from an airplane. It’s harder to spot an exoplanet than that; the only way we can observe what’s out in space is by analyzing the light we collect. Unfortunately exoplanets emit no light (although they do emit faint infrared emissions) so we cannot ever directly “look” at them unless some extraordinary innovation comes along. Instead we estimate their mass, size and composition from the lack of light of the parent star as the planet passes in front of it and eclipses it. This is really how we discovered that exoplanets existed in the first place, but it is now the hot focus in astronomy.

Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll find a way some day.
