Your Questions About How To Discover New Books

Mandy asks…

help finding books written in poetry form?

My younger sister has discovered books!! But she only wants to read books written in poetry form like Crank by Ellen Hopkins. I have suggested the Twilight series, The great and terrible beauty, Tithe and many many other books, She looks at them and says NO. She also doesnt want to read about vampires, werewolves, or romance. Can anyone help?

New Niche Finder answers:

I reccomend if she hasn’t already that she reads the rest of the books Ellen Hopkins has written.
If she enjoyed Crank then she’ll love the sequal – Glass
but on top of that my favourite book by Hopkins has to be Impulse it’s beautiful and I swear i read it atleast 5 times.
There is also Burned but in my oppinion it’s one of the more toned down ones.
And sometime in August suggest to your sister for her to go and buy Identical by Ellen Hopkins aswell it’s supposed to be fantastic and I can hardly wait : )

Joseph asks…

Are Collins Classics published books watered down or abridged versions of the original classic?

I’ve read novels before only to reach the last page and discover the book was condensed and watered down to fit the literary level of small children and i didn’t want to make that mistake again.
thanks for the answers.

New Niche Finder answers:

They are not watered down or condensed to suit younger readers.

Why have we been warned for the last year about HDTV?

I’m getting tired of the hysteria over HDTV. Who cares if some little old lady misses Wheel of Fortune? The elderly grew up without television. Maybe we’d all start talking to each other again, or even discover books!

New Niche Finder answers:

It’s not HDTV, it’s just Digital TV. And everyone with cable doesn’t need to worry. I don’t know why all the hype.

Robert asks…

If a historical book mentions your house in it does it add value to the home?

I recently discovered a book of letters written by a famous historical author where he mentions the address of my home as being owned by a good friend of the author’s, as well as describing it a few different times throughout. Does this add any value to my house? Its quite possible that the author may have stayed in this house at some point, or possibly did some work from here but that hasn’t been confirmed yet….

thanks

New Niche Finder answers:

If you can authenticate what you say it may have some effect on value. If you could get it approved as a historical site then I’m sure it would have value. Right it wouldn’t have any value unless the person interested in buying it was a fan of the author.

Sorry, I just read your title. I didn’t realize you wanted it for free. If you say which town you are in, I can find out if a library near you has it.
