Maria asks…

Is it odd that I know more about my parent’s generation of music than my parents?

I ONLY listen to classic rock (1965-1980) and I know more about music from that era than my parents. I am constantley discovering music and exposing it to my parents. A lot of people will say that this music is old or everyone has heard it before but there so much to be discovered. Anyways is there anyone out there who knows more about classic rock han the people who were old enough to discover it the first time??

Welcome to my world!

I was born in the early 80s, but mostly grew-up on music of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s {with whatever was ‘current’ in the 80s}. And throughout my life, especially as a teenager, this love of “Classic Rock” {it’s an era, not a genre – bands & artists who originated between 1960 – 1979} marked me as the odd kid out from my friends.

Now, unlike you, I *don’t* only listen to the music of Classic Rock bands & artists {because it refers to the artists, it includes all their songs released after 1979, right up to present day}.

I do listen to a variety of 80s, 90s, and a little 00s music, but CR just makes up a large part of my music collection ~ as does Scottish and Irish Folk, and some Classical.

Ken asks…

Am i able to show the current song i am listening on iTunes on Facebook?

When i play a song on iTunes can it be shown on Facebook somehow so my friends can see and discover music?

New Niche Finder answers:

I’m not sure, however, you can use http://www.spotify.com. My friends use it and it shows what song they’re currently listening to in the ‘Ticker’ (on the right hand side of the news feed)
Hope this helped.

Jenny asks…

What kinds of bands were popular when you went to high school?

For me it seemed to be bands like NOFX, (some) AFI, Pennywise, Dropkick Murphys. That’s what I remember a lot of kids wearing. I was still discovering music at this time [early-Freshman], so it kind of sucked that I wasn’t able to during most of my high school to appreciate these bands when other kids were. I miss those days :/

Well in my school, imagine top 40 mixed with dubstep and ADTR amongst other modern ‘post hardcore” bands, with the occasional hxc kid rocking a Chelsea Grin shirt. And Radiohead and Vader, because of me.

Paul asks…

What are some cheap headphones for listening to dubstep music?

Hello everyone I just discovered dubstep music and I really like it. Right now Im using apple headphones which I dont hate but I would rather have some over the ear headphones. I cant afford much at all. I can only afford about $20-$30. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks

I would get Skullcandy Skullcrushers. They are a little out of your range. I got my pair for $50, but you can probably get them online for around $35-$40. They are amazing quality, and have mini subwoofers that you can turn on and off (and control how much you want) that amplify the bass.
