Your Questions About How To Find A New Car

George asks…

car battery dead every time i start the car after it got stolen?

My car was stolen and it was recovered a day after. When I found the car battery was dead so i jumped the car. And the next day when I tried to start the car it didnt start because the battery was dead again. Whats wrong with my car? What should I do?

New Niche Finder answers:

Charge the battery and do a load test. Should be around 12-12.6 V charged. Hook it up, let the car run for about 10 minutes, and test the battery while the car is on. If the alternator is working, it’ll be around 13-15V. Bad alternator means the battery doesn’t charge while it’s running.

What car is good for converting to an electric car?

What car is good for converting to an electric car?
I’m interested in a car that is lightweight, has a manual transmission, and has room for batteries. I’m trying to convert a gas car to an electric car, and I need one that is light, has manual transmission, room for batteries, etc, etc. Has anyone done that and has advice/know a good car for it? I have a limited price range, and I need a relatively cheap car for it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

New Niche Finder answers:

To convert a car to electric, you will find that you don’t need many of the thing at the gas car did, for instance the gas tank, radiator, and motor.
The electric motor is much smaller the a gas one.
Many people are building a battery pack to go where the gas tank was along with using the extra space in the engine compartment.
This is a link to what some others have done.

Michael asks…

What car with good mpg would be good for gravel roads?

Cars usually are too low to the ground and hit some parts on the bottom of the car. Are there any cars with good mpg that can ride good on gravel roads?

New Niche Finder answers:

Just about any Subaru is the perfect car for you, as they are essentially built specifically for that purpose. Only problem is the definition of good MPG. Most Subies won’t see better than 20 MPG in the city, but can get a respectable 24-28 on the highway provided its properly maintained.

Sandy asks…

My personal car lease finished last week although i still have the car. What should I do?

My personal car lease finished last week although i still have the car. What should I do? Nobody from the leasing or finance company has called and they have my correct mobile number and address. The dealership that delivered the car is some 300 miles away. Any suggestions?

New Niche Finder answers:

In most cases, the dealer who leased the car to you will be responsible to accept it when the term of the lease is over. They will want to inspect the vehicle for damages, and close the contract.

It is not their responsibility to call you, and, if you do not hear from them, you should make every attempt to contact them. The penalties for a late return can be severe, and simply failing to return a leased vehicle because you have not heard from anyone, will not save you from these penalties……

Good luck to you.

New Niche Finder answers:

A lifetime of gas would be cheaper than trying to convert a car.
