Your Questions About How To Find A New Doctor

Thomas asks…

What does it mean when a doctor assign a patient to another doctor?

The doctor I work for (also in love with) was meant to treat a child but he had to assign the child to another doctor in the same ward. I was paranoid in thinking that he was interested in the child’s mother as he was really keen to be around the mother for the past few wks..if he was interested he wouldn’t have assigned them to another doctor in the same ward. Do you think what he did mean they are just like any other patients
these are same level doctors, same ward!

Oh so now your question the other day makes sense! You were worried about a certain doctor being too cozy with a patients mother and you thought he was being unethical. ;). Right…..

Sounds like he transferred her because he will be free to ask her out If he’s not the child’s doctor.

You need to find a new doctor to love….he has it bad for this lady!

Lizzie asks…

What are the chances of not getting your doctor for delivery?

you see this in movies all the time LOL, mom wigging out because her doctor can’t be found and they have to use the on call doctor. How often does this really happen though? And is there any way to ensure it won’t happen??

Did your doctor come in as soon as you got to the hospital or not until it’s actually time to deliver?

New Niche Finder answers:

No, I’m not sure where my doctor was but another doctor who worked in his practice who I hadn’t seen before delivered my baby. I didn’t really care though because the only time he was there was while I was pushing and that only lasted for about 2 minutes. The nurses were the ones who were actually there the whole time and helped me through it.

Lisa asks…

What would happen if a doctor got one of his patients pregnant?

Are doctors allowed to date their patients? What if a doctor was really young, 21 and was treating a girl who was 16 and they ended up falling in love, could they be together? Would the doctor lose his job if the hospital found out? What if he ended up getting her pregnant? What would he have to do then? What if he did truly love her, and was willing to support her?

New Niche Finder answers:

First of all, no one is going to be a doctor at 21 because it takes many more years past that to complete college and medical school.
Its not illegal to have a doctor/relationship, but it could certainly be looked at as unethical. It would really depend on the situation. As far as your example of a 16 year old kid and a 21 year old doctor, that’s impossible.

David asks…

How common is it for a doctor to hit on his or her patients?

I realize doctors have ethical rules against dating patients, but just how common is it for a doctor to flirt, hit on, and ask out a patient? How common is it for a doctor to date medical staff? Which medical staff tends to date doctors most often (ex, other doctors, RN’s, medical assistants, phlebotomists…). Can the relationship between a doctor and a patient ever work out? If you are a doctor, what is your experience with this and what are the stories you have heard and can share here. Thanks.

New Niche Finder answers:

Its not ethical as you already stated for a Doctor to make passes at his patients, But sometimes it happens they are human. I would imagine Doctors often meet people in their medical field and become attracted to them. Its okay if both are available. Its possible to meet a patient and have a meaningful relationship again if both are available. I guess if you are single and available it doesn’t matter what your profession is as long as you are compatible.
