Your Questions About New Niches

Charles asks…

How do I promote a niche dating site?

I am putting the final touches on a niche dating site and it will be live within a few days.

Question is: How do I go about promoting this?

Also, how does banner exchange work?

New Niche Finder answers:

This website is great for web advertising. It’s a free targeted advertising (based on you selecting various categories you would like to be included in) and link exchange network. You put other websites text ads on your page and yours appears on others. And it really is 100% free, forever. While it’s not something that guarantees traffic it also doesn’t cost anything, so why not try it?

Good luck!

What is a niche for a California Condor? I mean how does a California Condor use other things?

What is a niche for a California Condor? I mean how does a California Condor use other things.

What biotic things does a California Condor use?

What abiotic things do California Condors use?

How is a California Condor used by other things?

New Niche Finder answers:

California Condors are a type of vulture. They are scavengers, feeding on dead animals.

They usually nest in a limited habitat of cliff ledges, and lay about 1 egg every other year…. Not a great way of rebounding your population if you have low numbers.

Condors are endangered, and there is an active captive breeding population in two locations in California. The species is “used” by wildlife biologists, bird watchers, and others to gain an appreciation of nature.

Maria asks…

What is likely occur if two population have the same niche in a community?

1.both populations will eventually die out
2.the population better suited to the enviroment will survive and reproduce.
3.both populations will reproduce equal numbers of offspring.
4.one population will change its niche

New Niche Finder answers:

2 seems most reasonable, but I think the two niches will just compete against each other.

Thomas asks…

what are examples of a niche restriction?

I have to do a 3-D biology poster on niche restriction, so what exactly is a niche restriction? Also, if anyone can give me ideas on what I should do on my poster that would be great. Thanks.

New Niche Finder answers:

Ideal niche vs. Realized niche

fundamental niche = abiotic factors
realized niche = abiotic and biotic factors

realized niche is a restricted niche. It incorporates other animals, the competition. Indirect top-down, bottom-up and direct top-down, bottom-up competition processes. Fundamental niche is where the animal COULD live… If everything were to go perfectly with no outside competition, resource limitation, etc.

The realized niche “realizes” the affects of the RL and takes competition and resource limitation and so on into consideration.

Sandy asks…

What is the best way to market a niche market auction site?

Niche market is paper collectibles.

New Niche Finder answers:

If there is a hard copy publication that focuses or has a large number of potential traders for you market, try to get an article written about your site.

Orchestrate some wild or extremely unusual auction to get attention of mainstream media.

Send out press releases (you can do this online too)

promote through complementary sites with special offers or competition to their subscribers/visitors/members

the best is to figure out where you target market is likely to be and plan a marketing program to reach as many of them as possible as efficiently as possible

if you can’t get national coverage look at regional and local coverage in media (print, radio, tv)
