Sharon asks…

There are billions of species on earth. Can DNA prove that they all have a niche in a single evolutionary tree?

When life is created by science, will it have a niche in the present evolutionary tree or will it be a life form completely unrelated to present day life?

New Niche Finder answers:

Your smarter than most people because you’ve read the Bible. But the devil read the Jewish scriptures and I suppose now the New Testament as well when he confronted Jesus Christ after his temptation in the wilderness. There are right ways to understand it and there are wrong ways to do that. And this is done in this sight all the time with the ridiculous questions most ignorant atheists put on this site.

You’re question is very good and profound. I would say the first point is true and inarguable. But if and when life is created by scientists we know that man is ignorant of what he has done. Oh sure scientifically he has created life. But does he understand the implication of what he has done? It will take him many years and countless studies to learn this. And still he may never find out the full impact of it.

He mocks God because man and society has messed up. But when man creates life who does he blame when the life he created messes up? Himself or God? Is man more moral than God to do the right thing with life? For what purpose will this life be? Can the thing he created reproduce itself? Would man repent of his act if the thing he made behaved in a way that would endanger the existence of mankind on earth?

Those are sides issues to the event described. As to your question it may have a niche and it is very reasonable it may be completely unrelated to present day life. We won’t know what the consequences are. But we didn’t know that in the Garden of Eden either.

Thanks for the intelligent question for a change of pace. It is heartwarming to see a thinker here.

James asks…

What’s a good unique visitor per month # for a small, niche biz-to-biz website?

In trying to measure website effectiveness, what’s a healthy number of unique visitors per month for a small business-to-business, niche market website?

New Niche Finder answers:

You use month-to-month, or day-to-day tracking. There isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ number you can use. All businesses have different metrics and it takes accurate tracking to get them.

The way to do it is take whichever way you are going to measure, daily or monthly and use the first day/month as your base-line number.

Let’s say day one you received 10 unique visitors. That’s your base-line to track what your numbers are over a period of say a month. Tracking using your baseline number let’s you see if a specific day of the week, time of the day, etc. Brings more traffic.

While you’re at it, you’ll also be tracking the advertising you’re using to get the traffic.

Most marketers use a monthly metric because it’s not as tedious as doing this every day – unless you are really bored.

Knowing what marketing tactics are bringing you the traffic, which sources are bringing targeted traffic and which aren’t is also a part of it.

Have fun.

Ken asks…

What are some niche ideas I can work with for a newspaper?

I have to produce a newspaper on a niche topic area, about 8-10 pages long for university module…Any ideas on what subjects I could work with that are niche/localised ??

Thank you :-)

New Niche Finder answers:

8-10 pages is a lot on any subject, mainstream or otherwise. I don’t know what your priorities and interests are, but if I were to be given such an assignment, I would ask myself several questions: The most important is what can I get excited about. Noone can write on a topic that doesn’t elicit passion. Is there some kind of flora or fauna that is localized and has an interesting history? Is there a house or neighborhood worth investigating? Are there products that the area produces that few are aware of? Perhaps there are interesting statistics about the people in the area that could give you some ideas, for example, maybe there are more smokers than anywhere else in the country. Maybe there are more people with certain talents than anywhere else. I’m not sure what you are looking for, but whenever I have to write, I let the inspiration come to me by sitting in a crowded cafe and watching the people go by.
